DIA Inside|Out Program is here in Plymouth!
April 2017 to July 2017
PARC-Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex is excited to announce that Plymouth has been selected by the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) as one of eleven communities in Metro Detroit to host its popular Inside│Out program from April to July, 2017. Inside│Out brings high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the museum’s collection to outdoor venues during the spring and summer months.
“We’re absolutely delighted that PARC’s effort on behalf of Plymouth to host Inside|Out was accepted by the world-class DIA,” said PARC Vice President Mark Malcolm. “PARC and the other terrific collaborating organizations, including PCAC, the Library, the Historical Museum, the Michigan Philharmonic, the Penn Theatre, and the DDA are now busy planning fun and educational supporting events to help maximize the community’s engagement and enjoyment. Stay tuned!”
PARC is the destination in Plymouth to experience quality art, theater, music, fitness, culinary and recreation activities. We are thrilled by the addition of Inside│Out to our rapidly expanding range of opportunities for residents to engage in Plymouth’s lively Arts scene.

The presentation “Picturing Music” explores the presence of music in visual art to heighten awareness of the role music plays across cultures and time. The evening will also include a performance by the Michigan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, aspiring young players throughout Southeastern Michigan, especially in Plymouth, Canton, Northville, Novi, Bellville, Westland and other areas of Western Wayne County.
Be inspired by the DIA Inside|Out outdoor gallery with 12 art pieces located throughout the Plymouth community! Show us your creative side by taking an ART Selfie and posting it on Facebook or Instagram! Take a photo of yourself, your friends, your family members, or anyone else with one of the Inside|Out reproductions on display in the community, post it and tag @Plymouth PARC on Instgram and PARC-Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex on Facebook. Also and very important don’t forget to include the hashtag #InsideOutPlymouth!
Selfies will be judged on a weekly basis for their originality and imagination in capturing both you and the reproduction in its community setting. Selected selfies will be featured on the DIA Inside|Out Plymouth Facebook page and entered into the finals. After the contest ends an overall winner will be chosen from the finalists and awarded a prize.
